Puru then decides to drive the foreigner Darius out of India and eventually manages to unite the Pauravas, Takshashilans and Dasyus against him, forcing him to retreat after a battle.

Shiv Dutt tries to kill Anusuya and Puru by throwing them in River Jhelum. During her escape, she gives birth to a son, Purushottam (alias Puru, called Porus by foreigners). However, a Persian trader, Darius conspires with Ambhiraj and Bamni's elder brother and the prime minister of the Paurava Kingdom, Shiv Dutt (who has an ingrained hatred for Takshashila), breaking the peace between the two kingdoms and forcing the pregnant Anusuya to flee. Unlike her brother Ambhiraj, who cares only for his kingdom, Anusuya dreams of a united India. Two rival Indian kingdoms, the Pauravas and Takshashila decide to end their enmity with a political marriage of the king of the Pauravas, Arya Bamni and Anusuya, the younger sister of Ambhiraj, the king of Takshashila. It is the most expensive show on Indian television, having a budget of about INR 500 crores (roughly USD 70 million). The show was created by Siddharth Kumar Tewary of Swastik Productions. Another historical drama Chandragupta Maurya replaced it with seamless continuity of story. Its last episode was aired on 13 November 2018. It premiered on 27 November 2017 on Sony TV.
